Sapporo Day 1 & 2
Sapporo Day 3 & 4
On our drive to Furano, we stopped by Moerenuma Park which is a beautiful park designed by a Japanese-American architect, Isamu Noguchi. We expected the sky to be clear and beautiful after the rain but was disappointed to find out that it was rather hazy and grey. It seemed that good weather wasn't something we were going to have in our trip.
We rented out bikes at the park and rode around enjoying the amazing park landscapes.
Most of the park was designed around pyramids and different triangular shapes. It felt like I was riding around in a large canvas.
I am a sucker for lines and shapes. The park provided plenty of that :)
Initially, I thought that was a sundial but not sure what that statue really is now that I look at it.
Gotta hate those hazy skies :(
Near the entrance of the park there is a huge water fountain show. The crowd gathered around the fountain enjoying the show and cooling down from the summer sun.
This is the famous glass pyramid "Hidamari" in the park. It was very nice to be indoor in an air conditioned place after riding around the park on our bikes. The inside was also pretty amazing.
There was this TV that would make these weird ambient noises depending on how people would press the switches.
We returned our bikes after finishing checking out the park. The park was a nice small afternoon getaway before continuing our long ride to Furano.
To be continued...
