Our hostel was about 10 minutes drive up from Cape Shakotan and was located right near the beach. When we arrived, we were surprised at how desolate the small town was. There were only few fishermen and bikers wondering about the street. After checking in and dropping our baggage, I walked around the town and the small port to capture the scenery.

After rolling around in our hostel floor, we drove up north until Cape Kamui. The wind had started to pick up and created a very difficult shooting environment. Since it was nearly impossible to change lens due to the wind, I stuck with my Samyang 12mm f2.0 for the whole time i was there. Nothing like manual focusing in a wind storm ;)

The storm and wind created some spectacular cloudscape. It was amazing to see the sunset trying to shine through the stormy cloud.
I kept walking further towards the lighthouse, fighting the wind and some drizzle.

After fighting the storm, we drove back towards the hostel. The rain had started to pick up right as we left the cape.
We went to the nearby restaurant next to the hostel for some sushi and beer.

After a hearty meal of sushi, we went back to the hostel and drank the night away.

We woke up early in the morning to finish our drive around the whole Shakotan peninsula. There weren't anything particularly interesting and I was also having Shutter Fatigue Syndrome (too much photo taking) so no photo for the drive around the peninsula and towards Sapporo ;)

After about three hours of drive, we arrived back at Sapporo and returned our car.
We had our late lunch at Ramen Kyowakaku. The ramen there was definitely better than the one where Anthony Bourdain recommended but it was pretty pricey.
Because we had a reservation at Hotel Nidom which was about 15 minute south of the airport, we decided to take the airport train and then take the cab from the airport. It took us about an hour but we got to our luxurious Hotel and spent our last night bathing in some fanciness :D

After a walk through the woods, we took a nice long shower and ordered some room service. We had a very nice balcony view and sat around chatting until it got dark. I went out again for some late night shooting.
