Damyang Metasequoias

Damyang is probably one of my favorite places to photograph. Been there twice so far.. and both times, i have captured very memorable photographs.

This is the shot I took in the winter when I first visited Damyang. I love the Damyang bamboo forest. And it is one of my favorite places to visit in Korea.
I captured this shot while ramdonly playing around with my fisheyes lens.  This turned out to be one of my lucky money shots ;)

Back to metasequoias, the famous metasequoia road isn't too far from the bamboo forest. They are about five~ten minute driving and about 30~40 minute walking distance. So during winter, I visited the metasequoia road right after the bamboo forest. The winter scenery wasn't as spectacular as I expected. I decided to head back there when the leaves start to grow back in the summer.

I returned to metasequoia road towards end of May. I came to this place around 6:00am to avoid the crowd and hopefully get some morning fog. Unfortunately, there wasn't too much fog but the sunlight hit the leaves at an angle that gave a bit of yellow hue which i really liked.

I took this shot towards the end of the trail. I prefer this end of the road because of that slight curve. I was surprised at how most of the photographers with me at the time stayed only at the entrance. I guess waking up early morning discouraged many to walk the whole trail down.

This is another metasequoia road between Damyang and Sunchang. I heard from some photographers that they prefer this metasequoia road over the one in Damyang since there is more action with cars passing by. Personally, I found it a bit difficult trying to dodge cars and compose at the same time :) These cars do not slow down at all.
